I always seemed to have more things to do than time, and I was only sometimes motivated when I did accomplish what I intended. Thank goodness I was able to change this. My hero is habit tracking. Once I started using a habit tracker worksheet and a daily goal journal, my organization, schedule, and motivation went through the roof. When I was bodybuilding, I soon discovered the advantage of working on one body part per day. Isolating the body parts reduced injury and recovery time, and I was able to break my weight and muscle plateau. I now use this same technique for my business. As a business owner, I have many responsibilities. As an influencer, content creator, and successful life coach, I must continuously create quality content. I read religiously, am an author, and am an avid student of life. Everything overlaps. For a while, my approach reflected these overlaps. I have enjoyed success, but often at the sacrifice of rest, "me" time, motivation, and self-care—even with the help of extraordinary AI tools. AI is a valuable tool but cannot replace human diligence and personal style. As of now, it is great but limited. I first made five categories of my obligations and aspirations. I was surprised by how simple everything was and how it could fit into five days. I then incorporated a habit checker worksheet. These things are great. I can check my daily habits for success. I get instant gratification when I put a checkmark in the assigned column, and my brain registers another step toward inevitable success. The best part is that it freed me from a rigid system. As long as I work out each day, it doesn't matter when—as long as the check mark is on the sheet that day. Habit tracking may sound too simple to be worth much. Others may be smiling because they have been using these tools. For me, it has been truly life-changing. It was like finding out I could fit an elephant into a Prius and still have room for an oversized suitcase. Sustained habits create effective systems. And systems create repeatability. Habits determine a fruitful or fruitless life. Habit tracking is a powerful tool for achieving success in various areas of your life. By consistently monitoring and evaluating your habits, you can identify patterns, make adjustments, and hold yourself accountable for progress. Here are some tips for using habit tracking to help you achieve your goals: 1. Define your goals: Before you start tracking your habits, it's important to clearly define your goals and identify the habits that will help you achieve them. Be specific about what you want to accomplish and the actions you need to take to get there. 2. Choose the correct tracking method: There are many ways to track your habits, including using a journal, a habit tracking app, or a habit tracker in your planner. Choose a consistent method that works best for you. 3. Set up a routine: Establish a routine for tracking your habits, whether first thing in the morning, before bed, or throughout the day. Consistency is critical in tracking habits, so make it a part of your daily routine. 4. Start small: Rather than trying to track every habit simultaneously, start small by focusing on one or two habits at a time. You can add more once you've established a routine and consistently track those habits. 5. Be consistent: Make it a priority to track your daily habits, even when it's challenging or you don't feel like doing it. Consistency is key to building new habits and achieving success. 6. Review and reflect: Regularly review your habit tracker to assess your progress and reflect on what's working and what's not. Use this information to make adjustments and set new goals as needed. 7. Stay accountable: Share your habit-tracking journey with others, whether it's a friend, family member, or accountability partner. Having someone to hold you accountable can help keep you motivated and on track. By incorporating habit tracking into your daily routine, you can create positive habits to help you succeed in various areas of your life. Track your progress, stay consistent, and adjust to reach your goals. Motivation is as crucial as the correct plan for success. Habits form systems, and great systems take us on to success. But committing to a system can be tricky. It is even harder to stick to or modify a poorly organized one. People can be motivated by a variety of factors, including: Intrinsic motivation: This type of motivation comes from within and is driven by personal values, beliefs, and interests. Intrinsically motivated people are focused on personal growth, self-improvement, and achieving their goals. Extrinsic motivation: This type comes from external rewards or punishments, such as money, recognition, or praise. Extrinsically motivated people are driven by outside forces and may be encouraged to meet certain expectations or avoid negative consequences. Social motivation: Some people are motivated by their relationships with others, such as family, friends, or colleagues. Social motivations can include a desire for approval, acceptance, or belonging and a sense of duty or responsibility to others. Achievement motivation: People motivated by achievement are driven by a desire to succeed, excel, and reach their full potential. They may set challenging goals for themselves and work hard to achieve them. Fear or threat motivation: Some people fear failure, rejection, or adverse consequences. These individuals may be motivated to avoid failure or preserve their self-worth. Motivation is a complex and individualized phenomenon that internal and external factors can influence. Although motivation is crucial, maintaining it can be challenging because our emotional mindset can cause us to deviate or regress. I used to find that I was great as long as I stayed in motion. I have worked every day for months straight. Some of my books have sent me into week-long writing frenzies, only to take off a day, which would turn into a week if I wasn't careful. Looking back at the time I would stop would cause the inner critic to push lies into my mind. Why was I so lazy? Why was I wasting time? How could I expect to be successful if I kept stopping? Well, I couldn't have been lazy. And working myself to death is not my idea of success. Visual support is another crucial part of habit tracking. You cannot deny your accomplishments. As you look at all the checkmarks, you realize every checkmark is closer to a goal. So, no matter how much or how little you move, it doesn't always matter. What matters is we keep moving towards our goal. Please take the time to use habit tracking. There are too many advantages not to. Making better use of time and energy is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for anyone looking to streamline their path to success. See you on the mountaintop. Let's be great together.
